7/26/2023 0 Comments Secrets cabo resort![]() By day 3, I got used to it free cocktails, minibar and 24 hour room service. Out of habit, I found myself wanting to pay and tip every time we were served. I could get used to this view! Just landed and finally made it to our suite.įOOD: The food was literally exquisite! The all-inclusive part of this entire excursion really baffled me as this was my 1st time staying in an All- Inclusive Resort. They do make for great Facebook/Instagram pictures though….lol. IMO, the swim-outs are not worth the extra expense. As an added bonus, housekeeping also does a cleaning of your room anytime you are away for more than a few hours! A few of the other people from our group got the swim-out rooms, but most did not even use it. ![]() Consistently house keeping arrived to make up the room around 3-4pm in the evening, with the turn-down service arriving around 7:15-8:00pm. The bed was comfortable, bath tub divine and all around a great room. This location was ideal for us as it was far enough away from the noise which comes from corporate / special events but no more than a 10 minute walk to anywhere on the property. We could also see the pool and courtyard of the facility. This was a great location overlooking a fairway and ocean beyond. ROOM: We stayed in building 1 on the 4th floor, an oceanview room. ![]() We indulged in a couple’s massage and I got gel mani/pedi. You do have the option to take the coupons, which give you discounts on Spa treatments. One note of advice, after check-in we were going to be given, “coupons” (aka: the time share pitch.) Simply decline upfront and you do not have to go through the whole spill. While we waited we just had champagne by the pool. They took our luggage and then we headed to CHECK- IN.ĬHECK-IN: The check-in was smooth and we only had to wait about 15 minutes to get into our room. Once we arrived at the resort, we were greeted by a concierge crew that offered us steaming hot towels to relax us from the long journey. *Sidenote- Our original resort was destroyed, so we actually were transferred to Secrets at the same rate! Just landed and ready to shed some of the layers from the New York weather! Baby look!!! Checking out the scenery Los Cabos suffered major damage from Hurricane Olide back in September 2014 so the devastation is still quite visible while en route to Secrets. Imagine walking in Times Square x 1000! Once you make it through the crowd, the ride to the Resort is not quite scenic. I will say this, once you arrive at the airport and make it through customs, you will be OVERWHELMED with drivers, workers, sellers and a million other people trying to make a buck. Shuttle service is available for less though. Secrets is located about 35 minutes ($50) from Los Cabos Airport. It’s Adult Only, but Secrets does offer family friendly options. I wanted to spend some time telling you all about this heavenly resort. The property is enormous, so if excessive walking is an issue, request a room closer to building #1 where the lobby is located. Our trip to Mexico was simply a dream come true! After months of planning, we’ve finally made it! I took tons of pictures and jotted down notes everyday, so I will be sharing details of the excursion over the next few days! Ground-floor rooms have swim-up patios but lack ocean views. Palapas dot the beach for shade, and the main pool has mini-islands with palm trees. The contemporary Mexican decor throughout the rooms, with rich dark woods and colors in burnt red and gold, are reminiscent of a hacienda. There is even a batting cage and shooting range. There’s practically no reason to leave this slice of heaven, with activities like tennis, archery, cooking classes, beach volleyball, tequila tastings, bike tours, and golf. For now, Secrets has claimed this isolated strand to offer tranquillity far removed from the chaos of Cabo San Lucas. With 500 rooms overlooking the ocean and golf course, the property dwarfs the sleepy fishing village that is being rudely awakened by neighboring luxury resorts under construction. The first of the all-inclusive chains to reach La Playita, this adults-only resort has swim-up rooms, ocean views, seven restaurants, and a 13,000 square-foot Spa by Pevonia.
